Destination Landfill Exhibition
Three destructive machines, created by sculptor Nik Ramage steadily demolished a display of packaging design, featuring Pearlfisher’s work among others. It highlighted the responsibility of designers to realise that packaging has a life beyond the shelf and to address the question of what happens to it once its useful life is over. By commissioning the machines we wanted to bring environmental thinking to the forefront of the designers’ minds, prompting them to encourage clients to commission re-usable, recyclable and responsible design.
