Facebook’s Internet.org features the Haller Farmers Web App, designed by Pearlfisher
We’re delighted that the web app Pearlfisher designed for charity, Haller – in collaboration with software development studio, Red Badger – is now available on Facebook’s life-changing Internet.org app, Free Basics.
Internet.org is a Facebook-led initiative that brings together technology leaders, non-profits and local communities to make the benefits of the internet more accessible and affordable to the two thirds of the world who are not yet connected. By providing people with free access to basic services such as health, education, finance, jobs, communication and local information, it enables them to benefit from the life-changing knowledge the internet can provide.
Like Internet.org, the Haller Farmers web app is a game-changing idea that puts Haller’s life-changing knowledge and training into the hands of African smallholder farmers. Using a simple, graphic and visually rich design, with audio in Swahili to overcome illiteracy challenges, Haller is changing the lives of the people who need it most by combining the power of both digital technology and design.
Please note that the Haller Farmers app is available on Internet.org‘s Kenyan site on the airtel network.
