The Pearlfisher Futures team is hosting Cosmoprof North America’s first-ever interactive experience on the Future Of The Body. An interactive exhibition of future and blue-sky brand prototypes, The Future Of The Body will allow participants to learn how to build desire and brand impact through understanding the big changes affecting our relationship with our bodies.
Change: Dictatorial to Free
We are breaking away from idealized and conformist views of beauty and embracing our individual expression in exciting new ways. How will this impact the future beauty brand landscape?
Today we are moving away from stereotypes. We are a ‘collage’ of different cultural aesthetics and influences blurring the boundaries of race, gender, sexuality and age. In the past we conformed to culture but in the future, our constantly evolving and ever more unique quest for individual expression will challenge, change and create it. This means that our beauty brands will face tougher competition and challenges to fulfil this quest but, in succeeding, they would take the category to another level of interaction and innovation.
We are not denying that groundbreaking and exciting change is already happening. We are seeing beauty offers and expressions – such as Sephora’s Pantone Color IQ – providing a level of customization that had not been imagined 5 years ago. Brands are tapping into this new consumer and cultural mindset and, in turn, accelerating the pace of product and design innovation in the race to shape the future face of the beauty consumer. As part of our exhibition we will unveil exciting blue-sky brand prototypes that bring to life the wants, needs and desires of the future beauty consumer.
We are progressing into an era that champion’s individual expression and this now presents a new, exciting and challenging opportunity for brand thinking, innovation and design. Above all, we still expect this marketplace to lead, break boundaries and evolve to embrace all of today’s beauty consumers and their individual desires as we steer away from the restricted, the uniform and the ubiquitous.
The Future Of The Body exhibit will be open to all Cosmoprof attendees throughout the 3-day show in Las Vegas from 13-15 July.
