Branding Over Tea: Applying the Quality & Attention of Chinese Tradition

Amidst today’s technology race and innovation chase, branding stands out an art crafted by time and demanding of attention and detail. It stands as a beacon for what was, what is, and what will be the most effective form of differentiation and connection.

In the first conference of its kind, Branding Magazine will draw parallels between branding and the time-honoured cultural tradition of the Chinese Tea Ceremony – both which need dedicated patience, detail and quality. Unfolding in the six stages of a tea ceremony, the event will see brand leaders compare the rules of the tradition with the key branding themes for 2017.

Pearlfisher’s Strategic Development Director, Jack, will speak to the fifth rule: ‘Don’t forget the ambiance’. Just like a Chinese tea ceremony host uses artwork and beautiful items to create a peaceful atmosphere in which guests can relax, brands need to take stock of the environments in which they exist – cultural context, consumer lifestyles, the state of things in the world – to resonate with their intended audience.
