Sustainable Brands Summit

As our world faces the ramifications of global warming, and the real possibility that our political leaders might not be the ones to bring about change, it is time for business leaders to address these very real problems and champion solutions.

One way to bring about real change? Design. After all, as Steve Jobs advocated, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” Designers have the unique opportunity to creatively solve our biggest modern day problems.

At her talk at Sustainable Brands Summit Istanbul, Angela Hariche, Managing Director of Pearlfisher New York, will explore the responsibility we all have as designers to be leaders in sustainability. With a career background that spans international development, communication, film production, mobile technology and sustainability, Angela is a leader of creative thinkers. Calling on her own experiences advising brands, Pearlfisher Futures thinking, and the work Pearlfisher has done with the Haller Foundation to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Angela will outline the opportunity and responsibility we all have to educate and lead brands to more sustainable practices.

Her talk, “Design Thinking to Champion Change”, will serve as a call to action for designers, strategists and global citizens to devote more time, care and thought to how businesses can better bring about a more sustainable future. Angela will reveal what the world’s biggest brands can learn from ‘design thinking’ to harness innovation, address our most pressing global issues and create practical solutions.
