Pearlfisher is proud to be one of the first design agencies to join the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) – a membership-based collaborative considered the leading voice on sustainable packaging solutions – underlining the company’s commitment to designing a future where packaging and waste have zero impact.
Pearlfisher is accompanying the 250-strong membership of leading US blue-chip companies and iconic brands – including The Coca-Cola Company, Mars, Walmart, United Parcel Service (UPS), Starbucks and Amazon – with a mission to use the power of industry and thought leadership to strengthen and advance the business case for more sustainable packaging.
Brandi Parker, Head of Realization at Pearlfisher, said, “We’re excited about joining SPC – becoming part of a wider, diverse and committed group. This opportunity allows us to contribute to the development of resources, programs and fundamentally help educate and inspire others about the pivotal role design plays when thinking about sustainable solutions. Ultimately, sustainability should never be an afterthought. It should be imbued into the heart of a brand’s identity.”
We have already introduced a collaborative approach with our clients – our brand sustainability program called Lightweighting – that isn’t just about making things lighter but about how brands can harness design to reduce their footprint across their entire lifecycle. Like SPC, we believe that coming together in a collective and collaborative way is key to not just how we reduce, but creatively revolutionize, the environmental impact of packaging – now and into the future.”
