Pearlfisher is excited to be kicking off 2022 as the headline sponsor of MERGE, an exhibition and collaboration between photographer Nicola Bensley and artist David Dipré. MERGE will be the first event as part of a new initiative from Pearlfisher, called “Creative Collaborations”, which will support a variety of creatives, in different ways, as they come together to create art in all its forms.

MERGE began in lockdown 2020 and was born from a shared need to observe and capture the specifics of particular subjects and broaden the possibilities of how a portrait or human figure is defined. Bensley shoots the subjects on film, in black and white, to produce silver-gelatin prints. The pristine form of which is then painted, scratched and drawn on in Dipré’s inimitable style to create a dreamlike environment of bespoke images toying with perception.

Nicola Bensley and David Dipré said, “We are thrilled to have Pearlfisher’s support for our debut gallery show MERGE. It’s a great privilege to be working with such a forward-thinking, innovative, creative company and an honour to be the first of their inspired new initiative, Creative Collaborations.”

MERGE at the Bermondsey Project Space will open on Tuesday 11th January and run until Sunday 23rd January 2022. The exhibition will be live during  London Art Fair which runs between 19th – 23rd January 2022.
