If it seems like I’m always drawing—you’re right. I can trace my love of letters way back to the doodling I did in grade school. Since then, my knowledge for typography, calligraphy, hand-lettering and illustration have grown in spades and it’s even led me to experiment with new projects like large-scale murals, curating my own Etsy shop and working on the full suite of wedding materials. However, I always return to the basics. My two favorite tools remain paper and a pencil.
After graduating from the University of Dayton for Visual Communication Design, I spent five years of my career in Chicago where I worked primarily on packaging design for clients like Sam’s Club, PepsiCo and Kraft. Throughout my career, the outdoors and animals have been a consistent source of inspiration for me. Living in Hawaii in my early 20s furthered my appreciation for the beauty and motivation that a little fresh air can bring.
I’m a foodie and a lover of beer, so the restaurant culture of New York City has been a great way for me and my friends to explore when I’m not designing.
