Green & Blacks

How do you turn organic passion into an intense international love affair?

By understanding that people desire luxury and indulgence from chocolate brands, and taking inspiration from the superior quality of the product, we repositioned Green & Black’s from worthy organic to everyday luxury.

Green & Blacks

Founded in West London in 1992 by pioneering organic expert, Craig Sams and his environmental journalist - and chocoholic - wife, Jo Fairly, Green & Black's makes ethically-sourced, organic, premium chocolate.

With an 18-year brand design partnership resulting in 5 generations of brand identity and packaging design, we transformed Green & Black's from a worthy organic to an everyday luxury chocolate brand with a unique brand truth rooted in the taste intensity, superior quality and ethical sourcing of the ingredients.

Colour sits at the heart of the brand (it's even in the name - Green reflects the commitment to ethically sourced cocoa and Black, the taste intensity of the products) to communicate the flavour and creates a strong blocking effect. The monogram is softly varnished behind the gold typography of the logotype which denotes the brand's premium status whilst 'Organic' underpins the brand as a differentiator - not a lead message.
