Guardian

When time is ticking on the watch industry, how do you design a new movement to help save our planet?

By marking time in a new way with every element of Nordgreen’s sustainable, super-premium new watch; considered and carefully designed to last 100 years.

Guardian

Scandinavian simplicity at its finest, Nordgreen designer watches express a passion for esthetic appeal and superb functionality combined with a long-term vision to reduce the environmental impact of the watch industry. The Guardian, a new release of 3,000 super-premium and sustainable watches designed by Jakob Wagner, sees Nordgreen take its vision to the next level.

Our unique packaging design for the Guardian series combines luxury and end-to-end design thinking. Made of fully recycled and recyclable materials, the packaging perfectly complements the idea behind this new ground-breaking timepiece by pairing the esthetic appeal and superb functionality Nordgreen is known for with a long-term vision to reduce the environmental impact of the watch industry.

The luxurious, monochromatic and streamlined white cube box has a subtle textured finish with minimal branding and magnetic closure for a super tactile unboxing experience. Two-word messaging statements or brand micro-stories – such as Respect Time or Love Earth – appear on the sides in different configurations, as the top and bottom of the box spin and connect.

3D printed on demand to counter wastage and the environmental impact of storage, the recycled plastic box started life as PET bottles. An integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) chip elevates the packaging - moving it from a functional and protective role - to become an interactive experience offering information about the packaging production and the recycling process to encourage its community to play an active role in saving the planet.
