To celebrate a monumental milestone for the brand – their 25th anniversary – Intelligentsia Coffee approached us to create a bolder, more meaningful visual brand expression of their coffee bag portfolio. The new design elevates the specialty coffee while reinforcing the brand's uniqueness, which has made them a pioneer in the industry since their inception – direct trade relationships, seasonality and extraordinary coffee.
The brand refresh consisted of polishing the wings and the eye of the Intelligentsia logo for legibility. Then a new icon system was created on the side panels of each coffee bag to communicate the product care and preparation process. All of which is expressed with individuality on the packaging for each, unique variant. Each bag democratizes the passion for artisanal coffee, giving equal priority to the whole product range, by educating consumers on provenance and seasonality in a clear and coherent manner.
